U5 - U14 COACH & ASSISTANT TRAINING:

U5-U14 Coaches & Assistants:

If you have completed a Volunteer Application to be a U5-U14 Head or Assistant coach, you must complete the Hillsborough County Mandatory certification training by selecting ONE of the following options:

  • Free Hillsborough County Certification (classroom course)

OR

  • $20 National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) online coach certification
+ Free Online Concussion training (taken through NAYS OR the CDC)
+ Free Online First Aid & CPR training

WSA also needs you to:

  1. Ensure you confirmed your Coach’s jersey size by viewing the samples available at our registration opportunities (some sizes run considerably larger than usual).  We will not be able to exchange sizes once the order is placed.  Please refer to the Jersey Sizing Chart if you did not view the sizes at registration.
  2. Send us a photo for your Volunteer badge (if you did not have a photo taken at registration or would prefer to send us your own glamour shot); click here to view acceptable photos.
  3. After completing all the required training courses, submit all the training information to WSA via the link on this page or Coaches’ Corner.  WSA does not have access to confirm you completed any training–you must provide us with the information by the deadline (which is usually one week after Final Registration date) in order for WSA to obtain approval from Hillsborough County to assign you to a team.  Please check the calendar on the website for the certification deadline.

Note:  If you completed any of the above training for another organization in Hillsborough County, you do not need to take the training again–just send us the information.
