BIRTH CERTIFICATE REQUIRED:
We are required, for insurance purposes, to keep a copy of every participant's birth certificate on file. This must
be a
legal
birth certificate (please click link to see what is acceptable/not acceptable).
A copier may not be available so please be sure to bring the original AND a legible photocopy of your child's birth
certificate if they did not participate in a WSA program during the
past year. Registration will NOT be accepted unless
you leave a legible photocopy of the birth certificate.
Unfortunately, due to the additional administration involved, we do
not have the volunteer resources to accept faxing, dropping off or
mailing of birth certificates after registration.
Pre-printed registration forms will be
available for all returning participants from the past 12 months (past
two seasons); a copy of the birth
certificate is on file for these players so it will not be required for registration.
Please view Age Divisions
for player eligibility BEFORE coming to registration:

Age divisions are based on the Florida Youth Soccer
Association's cutoff date and will be in effect for one academic
year (August - July).
This means participants in the Spring season will remain in the
same age group as the past year's Fall season. |
U5-U12
Programs:
We anticipate fielding Under 5, Under 6, Under 7, Under 8, Under
10 and Under 12 age groups providing there are sufficient volunteer coaches available. Some age groups may be combined like other
leagues do (U5 participants may be placed in the U6 age group and U7
participants may be placed in the U8 age group)--if we do not have enough
coaches to have separate U5, U6, U7 and U8 teams. The fee for these age
groups is $90.
New (and some returning) participants in the Under 7, Under 8, Under 10 and
Under 12 age groups must participate in a 15-minute mandatory Skills
Assessment in order to complete registration--the date for Skills Assessment
will be published on the Teams & Schedules page. Please read the FAQ's
regarding Skills Assessment before coming to registration. For safety reasons,
children attending Skills Assessment sessions must wear soccer cleats and
shin-guards in order to be allowed to participate. If you have a scheduling
conflict with the Skills Assessment date, and your child will not be able to
participate on that date, they will not be assigned to a team so we
encourage you to register your child in one of the other three soccer leagues in
the area.
Each participant will receive a uniform and a participation award at the
end of the season. Participants are required to wear shin-guards and soccer
cleats for all soccer activities. Games are played on Saturdays with one or two practices during the
week. The Under 5 and Under 6 teams usually practise once a week, whereas the U7, U8, U10 and
U12 teams usually practise twice a week. Practice days and times will be determined
by the team's coach, based on their own personal schedule. Therefore, WSA
cannot provide schedules in advance of the season. If your child is involved
with other activities or you anticipate transportation/scheduling issues that may conflict
with WSA activities, please note that requests for refunds or for players to be reassigned
to teams will not be honored. Field locations will be published on this
website once they have been finalized--tentative locations for games (which will be held
on Saturdays) are Westchase Recreation Center and Glencliff Park. Tentative practice
location is Glencliff Park. WSA does NOT have access to a lit
facility for evening practices. The season is tentatively scheduled
to begin in March and will end May 19. Please refer
to the Teams & Schedules page for season-specific information.
No refunds
will be made for cancellations due to inclement weather, illnesses,
injuries or other circumstances beyond our control.
Due to
the up-front costs related to facilities, fields, equipment, uniforms,
administration and insurance, etc., once a player is registered, no refunds
will be issued after the refund deadline published on the website and
payment made for one season cannot be credited/applied to another.
MiniWee
Program:
This program will be offered
as an introduction to soccer to children who are 3½ to 4½ years old
by the cutoff date, NOT the date the program begins (see Age
Divisions) .
The fee for this age group is
$70. The MiniWee program will
run for 5 weeks and is tentatively scheduled to begin in April and
will end May 12. The sessions will be held on Saturdays only and will be
approximately 45 minutes. Participants are required to wear shin-guards and soccer
cleats.
Please refer to the Teams & Schedules page
for season-specific information.
